About the Founder
Raphael Pappalardo has been building apps since the age of 15. Now 25 and based in Germany and South Korea, he's the founder of Eighteen1 Studios — the independent studio behind Byde.
The idea came from a frustration he kept running into. Despite owning plenty of clothes, getting dressed in the morning still felt harder than it should. There were no tools built for how men actually think about style — practical, direct, no mood boards, no fashion editorials, just the clothes in front of you and a day to get through.
Existing wardrobe apps were either built for women, overwhelmingly complex, or turned getting dressed into a project. Raphael wanted something that worked the way a good friend with great taste would — tell it what you're doing, get a real outfit back, get on with your day.
Byde launched on iOS on 19th of May 2026. It's the first product from Eighteen1 Studios aimed at the fashion and productivity market, and the one Raphael has wanted to exist for years.
